Izzie in 3D

Today was the 3D ultrasound for Izzie. All morning I felt her tumbling in my belly then come time for the appointment she must have found a spot she liked and decided not to move much. Her neck was stretch back with her chin up. The first glimpse we got of her she had her foot in front of her face and a hand, so all we could see on her face was a cute little nose. After turning from side to side and getting up to walk for about 10minutes she still wasn't moving out of her little spot. She was all smushed up against the placenta so when her hand wasn't in front of her face we still didn't get a perfect shot. I'm still glad we tried though. Willis and I were able to see our beautiful baby girl with her little eyes and button nose and a couple of pictures did turn out. This just makes me even more excited to see her in person. Only 3 more months!!!
It's week 27 and I must admit it is pretty amazing getting to see Isabella. Only 3 more months! Better get that nursery finished :-)

Babymoon!

Some of Willis's friends were kind enough to lend us their beach house this weekend for a babymoon. We had been talking about taking a weekend trip to the beach before Izzie arrives and when they offered for us to use their home it was Perfect! It was so nice and relaxing just the two of us with absolutely NO plans:-) Here is a pic of the beach house.

Me on the steps of the house
Me & Willis out front
We were just a few blocks from the ocean so we had to go see the water and here are some pics Willis took
We had such a great time hanging out, eating and of course doing a little shopping. I did find my diaper bag while down there..soo happy about that. And we bought Isabella the cutest pink coming home dress, I can't wait to see it on her:-)

26 weeks

This week little Izzie is kicking and flipping up a storm in my belly. My bladder is not too appreciative but I however love to feel her move around. It gives me a sense of security that she playing around and makes me feel that everything is OK. Willis and I have been keeping busy. The other day we went to a Bobcats game in uptown Charlotte and had a great time. Had to leave early due to my working the next day but still fun here are some pics...

Today we went to lunch with Ashley & TJ to celebrate his birthday. It was so nice to see Ashley all preggo...here is a pic of us. I am 61/2 months preggo and she is 5 months!
After lunch we went to my favorite fabric store Mary Jo's and found some awesome remnants for only $1.25!

This is going to be my next project is to turn these remnants into burp clothes for Izzie! The blue ones are for Ashley's baby. She is going to come down to the house one day and we are going to sew them.

As for the nursery we do have the furniture up. However I'm waiting to post pics until I do a little bit more. This coming week we are going on our Baby Moon to the beach and hopefully I will find some more decor for the nursery so I will post pics then...

25 Weeks

Tuesday marked the 25th week of pregnancy. Here are some updates:
Izzie is about the size of an eggplant :-)
I can see my belly move when she does...it looked like a wave in my belly last night
We get to pick up her furniture this weekend which we just ordered 5 days ago
I have switched to slip on shoes for work
We have a baby moon planned for next weekend
We have signed up for childbirth classes
We registered last week
Basically we have been busy busy busy planning for her arrival. Sure we have 15 weeks left but the time is flying by. And considering I work every other weekend and the weekends I'm off are now occupied with showers, traveling etc. we are utilizing every second. Her furniture has arrived but we won't be able to pick it up until this weekend...well Willis will pick it up because I again am working. We already bought bedding so we have the major players for the nursery! Then it's just little details which won't be an issue. I'm still reading my pregnancy book. I had been doing it week by week so I would know what to expect for the upcoming week. But now I feel it's crunch time and I want to finish it so I can have time to read some parenting books. Any good suggestions on ones to read???

We Have a Name!

After looking through many baby name books and many websites and of course hearing input from every friend and coworker WE finally came up with a name. This was such a difficult decision for us. We wanted a name that when people heard they knew immediately that she is a girl. We also looked up the meaning of every name that we thought of and surprisingly that eliminated a lot. Then the other morning I came out of the shower with this name in my head and when I went to tell Willis about it he had been looking up the meaning of it. So immediately we knew that should be the name of our little princess. Her name is:
Isabella Ruth Whitley
We are going to call her "Izzie" for short. The middle name Ruth is my mother's middle name and also one of our favorite books in the Bible about a wonderfully strong Christian woman who is faithful to the Lord and her family. We are so excited that we can start calling her Izzie instead of baby girl!
*other news: my parents are on their way up for the weekend to help with the nursery. We are buying furniture this weekend and cleaning carpet and trying to find some bedding. Stay tuned...I can't wait to have pics to show everyone!

6 Months and more...

I can't believe 6 months has gone by soooo fast! It's amazing all the changes that are happening with our little baby girl. She is getting so big and moving so much. When I lay on my left side I feel her kicking almost constantly. So sometimes it is difficult to fall asleep in that position. It amazes me every time I feel her move! Willis had gotten to feel some pretty strong kicks recently. Not only is baby growing but so is momma. So I thought I would show some pics of the growth of my belly.
1 Month Preggo
3 Months Preggo
6 Months Preggo
It is quite obvious now that I am preggo and not just having gas. Everyone asks me now how far along I am and if I know what I'm having. I like having the belly but it is taking some getting use to. I'm not as flexible and can't fit in the small spaces I use to and that's frustrating. Also bending over to tie shoes is becoming more time consuming. But all in all I love my growing belly and all that comes with it. Tomorrow Willis and I are off work and we are going to register for our girl. I'm so excited!! We have finally picked out furniture that we will be getting soon and I can't wait to have it and post pics. It is perfect for our little princess!!
