Vacation!

Willis and I were most excited to take a full week of PAID vacation this year. We went to North Myrtle Beach with his family for the week. The condo we stayed in was ocean front and very spacious. It was soo relaxing. We slept in every day and then we would go to the ocean for a few hours. And of course I had to do some shopping. My birthday had been just a few days before our trip and part of my present was Willis promised a small shopping spree at the beach...and I sure did cash that in :-) We went to both Tanger Outlets but my favorite has the be the Coastal Grande Mall. We also went out to eat almost every night. Our favorite dinner was at House of Blues (Willis's former work place). We also ate at Damon's in Myrtle Beach and got to sit outside on the water which was nice. Some people were letting off fireworks on the beach while we were eating which was fun. Then we had to make our usual trip with the entire family to Calabash, NC to get some seafood.

It was a great vacation but we were happy to get back home and see our puppy...and I think she was happy to see us!

3 years and more

Wow it's been a long time since my last post. Lots going on for updating. Well Willis and I got iPhones so I hardly ever get on my computer now and I'm just now realizing I can blog straight from my phone! Woo hoo.
On may 20th willis and I celebrated 3years together. It was wonderful. He suprised me with a dance lesson at Queen City Ballroom in Charlotte. I was totally surprised and loved it. Willis was awesome:-) at dancing.
I've been to a few showers. One baby shower for my cousin Tyler and his wife Chas. They are expecting a little boy Parker and he loaded up. I also went to a bridal shower for my girlfriend Ashley given by her coworkers. Lots of fun can't wait for the wedding in July.
Currently Willis and I are on vacation in myrtle beach. One week paid vacay is wonderful. We are having a blast laying out, shopping and eating. It's so nice to a get away together. Well now that I can post from my phone expect it more often:-)

Yard '09

Today Willis and I were both off work and decided to finish a few outdoor details with a trip to our local garden center. Here are pics from our day outside.

The Flower bed is complete now

And I can't help but show a little before and after of the yard. The first pic is from 2008 before we seaded the yard and the second is how it looks this year. I think Willis did a better job that the builders with the seading :)

Twilight

Okay so I gave in and joined the craze and started reading the Twilight series with much thanks to Kim for getting me started with the first book. I absolutely loved it! I read it within 2 days. I just simply could not put it down. I felt myself completely enthralled with the love story between Bella and Edward and was wanting them soo badly to end up together. I waited impatiently on reading the second book "New Moon" because I wanted to watch the movie first.

I must say that after reading the book with the wonderful description I felt the movie was lacking. I was dissapointed in the relationship between Bella and Edward and didn't quite buy into it in the movie. All in all it was a good movie and I will probably watch it again. It just could not compete with the descriptive writing in the book. Right after watching the movie I couldn't wait to start on New Moon. I also read it in 2 days and just went out today to buy the rest of the series. I guess you could say that I am hooked. I will probably start ready Eclipse tonight before falling asleep. I just can't keep my hands off of this series. I totally believe the hype now. This is a great series!

Love Letters...

A few weeks ago I was cleaning out the closet in our guest room and came across this tiny box.
This little wooden box with polka dots (that I painted) contains all of the little notes that Willis and I wrote eachother while dating and while he lived in Charleston during our engagement. Also I stored in it all of our concert tickets and most movie stubs and stubs from the 2 plays we went to. It really took me back when I saw this. It has been shoved in the bottom of our closet for almost 2 years now with me never thinking about it. Sure the box is cute and I could keep it, but you know me I have decided to celebrate our memories another way. I decided to make a scrapbook of all our memories (letter, pics, and of course tickets to special events) not ever memory but ones for me to be able to look at over the years. So I picked up a few things at Hobby Lobby to get me started.
I opted to go for an antique theme of creme and white and here are some accessories I bought to go with it.
This is currently what my workspace looks like and I feel like I'm having a little creative block so who knows how long this little project will take.

I will keep you posted on my progress.

Bobcats

Last night we went to watch the Bobcats play up in Charlotte with Ashley and TJ. Here are some pics.
Me in my new jersey before leaving the house.
Me and Ash at the game.

Me and Willis (he had spend all day in the sun for work and got a massive burn)
Ash and TJ (also in matching jersey's)

The Bobcats lost but we still had a blast. :-)

Crafty

I will admit that I am loving the sun shining and warm weather. It has gotten me in the mood to re-decorate. I am trying to do little things at a time and it is quite hard to contain myself :-) So yesterday while in Spartanburg shopping with Momma I came across some fabulous elegant floral pieces at Michael's and decided it was time to re-decorate my beautiful crystal vase. This vase was given to me at a wedding shower and I absolutely love it. At first it was used on the dining table whenever Willis would bring home fresh flowers but then I decided to make a silk arrangement for our living room. And so it has remained for about 2 years now! Talk about time for a change. This is my vase before... This is it empty. I wanted to start from scratch.

Here are the floral pieces I picked up...I know it's hard to tell how they look in this one.

And here is the finished product in it's new locale...our bedroom!
I am so pleased with how it turned out. It is so elegant and fills the once empty space so nicely.

That was only one of the projects that I have completed. I am working on the living room as well. I will post when I have more complete...
